Research

  • Recycling of Non-Compatible Polymers In Barrier Food Packaging (Saudi Arabia & Lebanon 2015 -2018)
    • Problem
      Recycling of barrier plastic films
    • Solution
Cost-effective solutions and enhanced product properties to decrease plastic waste disposal
  • Polyolefin Film for Digital Printing (USA 2016)
    • Problem
PET substrate is non-recyclable, difficult to seal, and not suitable for digital printing
    • Solution
Designed a recyclable, PET-free, Polyolefin-based film for digital printing with high sealing properties
  • Beneficial Usage of Fly-Ash in a Variety of Plastic Products (USA 2016)
    • Problem
Limited sites accept to landfill fly-ash due to high transportation and landfilling fees
    • Solution
Identify fly ash usage in different applications and new twin screw compounder to process optimized blends. Decrease landfilling with compound sales while minimizing transportation and landfilling cost
  • Developed Heavy Duty Shipping Sack for Slippery Resin Packaging (Saudi Arabia 2015)
    • Problem
Cost and down time caused by the glue application
    • Solution
Glue-free film structure and blend while providing barrier to the slip migration from the petrochemical pellets and anti-slipping properties
